For the Yahoo CPS group. Procion dyed and painted cotton, with stencilled bugs, beading, hand twisted cording, free motion embroidery, ribbon, rabbit fur, paper, entrapped sequins, found objects; the tassels on bottom are 7" long. I think i may have made mine bigger than everyone else's----i accidentally grabbed a 9" square that had been slated for a smallsmall quilt exchange and didn't realize until i was almost done! From closed top to the bottom of the tassels, it's 17"!!!!!!

"She felt oddly suspended in the middle of time and space. Crystal sensation lingered in the air. Jewel toned Rain blinked back her tears, set her emotions aside, and her thoughts skipped ahead."
Poetry assembled from random bits of text cut from old book. I envy those with fine penmanship, lettered stamps, or the ability to print their text on fabric, but i'm finding this is a most satisfying way of "writing" poetry and stories!

Above, "A Topography of Woman" work in progress, collaged and painted fabrics and lace with trapunto.

Below, "Hugh's Legacy", hand painted fabrics, found objects, hand twisted cording, metal

Lots more on my main blogand Flickr site too!

Fiddly, finicky, cussy and satisfying!!! I never do things, or learn things, the easy way! I've been experimenting with the copper sheeting, wanting to do more than just stitch it flat or attach with beads, so thought i'd try more dimensional pieces. This will be part of a larger "art figure". It still has a bit to be added to, in the form of some textiles, then will find a home IN the art form!

I now have access to copper sheeting, suitable for textile and mixed media work. This fine gauge copper comes in 1 foot square pieces and will be mailed to you rolled. Easy to stitch, cut and manipulate, but strong enough to hold its shape, the possibilities in using it are as limitless as your imagination and skill level! Similar gauge pieces are sold through other sources in sizes from scrap to 10 inches square for 3.50-20.00. I am offering a 12x12 inch piece for 10.00CDN plus shipping. Your order will be insured and have a tracking number. Payment can be made through Paypal, or by (international) money order, though that costs *you* more. You don't have to have a Paypal account to send funds, just a bank account! Deals can be made for quantities over 3 feet. There will also be a tip sheet included with the order :}

I'll be posting work done with this product, sometime through this week, so stay tuned!

Shipping costs vary greatly, even within Canada. This means you must ask first, supplying your city, country and postal/zip code, none of which i will share with anyone!!!! Email me privately--there's an email link on my main site in the sidebar nav--- http://arleebarr.squarespace.com .If i charge too much for the postage, i will gladly refund the difference!!

This was a very emotional and intuitive piece for me, something i haven't felt in a long while. It sprang out of a colour and textural exercise when the black soutache accidentally fell on the background, seeming to worm its way in and make the piece speak.

Another postcard for second round of the CCF--this one was inspired by a quote from Jan King. It's the first in a series of similar cards for this fundraiser, a very worthy cause! You don't have to be Canadian to participate!
